Allpay chooses Vouchsafe to power D2C product for unbanked people
Vouchsafe is working with allpay Limited to provide the primary KYC for their latest product, DOSH.
DOSH is a prepaid Mastercard account designed to help more people access financial tools for everyday life.
Powered by allpay, DOSH is designed for people who are frequently locked out of financial systems. That includes those without a fixed address, good photo ID, or access to credit.
By using Vouchsafe, allpay’s DOSH product can offer a more flexible approach to identity checks. Instead of needing hard-to-get documents, people can be vouched for by someone they trust.
That simple shift makes it easier to open an account. No credit checks. No paperwork. Just a secure and inclusive way in.
In the UK, nearly one million people remain unbanked. Without a basic account, receiving wages, paying bills, or managing money becomes a daily challenge. It keeps people excluded and financially vulnerable.
DOSH is a response to that reality. Backed by allpay’s decades of experience in secure public sector payments, it offers:
- fast, paperless sign-up
- real-time alerts and budgeting tools
- clear, upfront pricing
- cash-in and cash-out via Post Office locations
- contactless Mastercard and mobile wallet
- human support from a UK-based team
It’s also built with privacy and safety in mind, including biometric and passcode options, card freezing, and full encryption.

Steve McGowan, Head of Compliance for allpay, said: “ID poverty is a real challenge. DOSH has been created to build bridges for those without passports or a driving licence, often excluded by the barriers put up by traditional and digital banks’ KYC processes.”
“Partnering with Vouchsafe has allowed us to build a flexible approach that is truly inclusive for all. Supported by our real, human, DOSH team where needed, it is truly inclusive for all, while still maintaining high compliance standards.”
Chloe Coleman, CEO of Vouchsafe, said: “allpay were one of our earliest customers, and they saw the potential for Vouchsafe from pretty much day one. The positive impact DOSH can have is clear, and we feel so spoiled to have this news finally out in the world.”
Financial access starts with being recognised. Sometimes, all it takes is someone willing to vouch for you.
We will discuss our work to bring more flexible onboarding to DOSH in next week’s webinar, where we’ll be joined by Simon Thomas, allpay’s Head of Financial Services. Register to attend here.
DOSH is now rolling out on an invite-only basis. You can register your interest here.
