Four more credit unions join Vouchsafe’s growing fraud intelligence network
Kingdom Community Bank, Scotwest, Thistle and Unify Credit Union are joining Vouchsafe, bringing nearly 70,000 more members into the UK’s largest fraud intelligence network serving credit unions.
We’re delighted to welcome four more credit unions to Vouchsafe: Kingdom Community Bank in Fife, Scotwest and Thistle in the West of Scotland, and Unify Credit Union in Greater Manchester.
They join a growing consortium of credit unions already working with Vouchsafe, including London Mutual, Manchester Credit Union, Right Way, Discovery, Castlemilk, South Coatbridge, West Lothian Savings and Loans and many others.
Together, we’re building something much bigger than any individual credit union could achieve alone.
Stronger together
Credit unions have always understood the value of cooperation. We’re bringing that same principle to fraud prevention.
Traditionally, when a fraudster is caught by one financial institution, they can simply move on to the next. Intelligence about suspicious identities, stolen credentials and organised fraud rarely travels quickly enough to stop them.
Vouchsafe is changing that.
Our real-time fraud intelligence network helps participating organisations recognise suspicious activity and patterns that would otherwise be invisible to them.
Every new organisation makes the network more valuable for everyone. More members mean more opportunities to identify fraud, connect the dots between organisations and prevent criminals from exploiting the gaps.
And there’s an important advantage to being part of a network that extends beyond credit unions. Vouchsafe also works with banks, lenders and other businesses, allowing credit unions to benefit from a much broader picture of fraud than their own sector could provide alone.
It’s not just about stopping fraud, either. Better intelligence means credit unions can confidently approve more legitimate members, reducing unnecessary friction and making financial services more accessible.
Sofia Dogan, CEO of Kingdom Community Bank, said:
“Forged documents and AI-generated identities are getting harder to spot, and no small team can be expected to catch everything alone. Joining Vouchsafe means that what one credit union learns, we all learn. That protects our members’ money and lets us say yes to honest applicants faster.”
Building infrastructure for the whole sector
Our work with credit unions extends beyond individual customer relationships.
Through partnerships with technology platforms including incuto, we’re making sophisticated identity verification and fraud prevention accessible to credit unions of all sizes, without expensive or complex integrations.
Chloe Coleman, CEO and co-founder of Vouchsafe, said:
“Credit unions are built on the principle that we’re stronger together. We’re applying exactly the same idea to fighting fraud.
The exciting thing about Vouchsafe is that credit unions aren’t just sharing intelligence with each other. They’re benefiting from a much bigger network, spanning different kinds of financial institutions and businesses.
Every new organisation makes that network more powerful, and we’re proud to be bringing those benefits to more and more credit unions.”
With the sector facing increasingly sophisticated AI-powered fraud, cooperation has never been more important.
We’re proud to welcome Kingdom Community Bank, Scotwest, Thistle and Unify to the network. Their arrival is great news for their members, and for every other organisation already participating.
The more we grow, the safer everyone becomes. If your credit union wants to join the network, get in touch.
