Safer, cheaper and easier: Vouchsafe’s biggest ever upgrade is here

TL;DR: We’ve rebuilt our core verification flow product from the ground up around compliant digital evidence, which is easier for your customers to provide and safer for you to accept.
We’ve always seen Vouchsafe as a democratising product: enabling safe access not only for individuals, but for businesses of any size too.
Today we’re making that future a reality.
Identity
Governments all around the world are introducing digital ID schemes, including in the UK. Four million eVisas will be joined by forty million mobile driving licences later this year.
The vast majority of Brits already have access to interoperable digital identity through their bank accounts.
From today, Vouchsafe will ask for these first, and will further emphasise them as adoption of digital ID increases.
Our wide range of photo ID support will continue to be available for those without.
And for the 1 billion worldwide who don’t have standard photo ID either, we will continue to offer our premier fallback of proving who you are with a vouch from a trusted referee.
Importantly, we will no longer be allowing paper documents like birth certificates as proof of identity. We wrote about the reasons why here.
Address
Many new digital IDs will include a verified address, but it will still be a while until this is the main way users verify. So in the meantime, we will be using our partnerships with credit bureaus and other data brokers to fill the gaps, especially for address verification.
The vast majority of people will now have their address automatically verified from digital evidence or official data, falling back to proof of address documents only where these stronger checks fail.
Enrichments
Every verification is protected by Radar, our internal fraud data-sharing network. Fraudsters are blocked across the network to keep all Vouchsafe users safe.
On top of this built-in protection, you can enable:
- our AML check, with optional ongoing monitoring
- online footprint checks
