Caroma Systems partners with Vouchsafe to modernise member onboarding for credit unions
We’re delighted to share that we’ve partnered with Caroma Systems, a core technology platform used by credit unions throughout the UK, to make it easier for CUs to safely onboard more members.
Caroma began life in 1992 as a UN Development Programme micro-finance project, and was used in over 180 locations across Africa, serving over four million people.
The system came to the UK credit union sector in 2014, and now serves a range of credit unions of all sizes.
This partnership means that Caroma customers can now access Vouchsafe in one click, bringing modern anti-fraud checks to their member onboarding and loan application journeys.
Paul Oliver, CEO of Caroma Systems, said:
“Because every credit union is different, Caroma’s power comes from its modularity and stellar partner ecosystem. Vouchsafe is an excellent addition to that ecosystem.”
Chloe Coleman, CEO of Vouchsafe, said:
“We’re so pleased to be working with Paul and his team to bring our unique anti-fraud tech to more of the credit union sector.”
”We are big believers in the power of community finance, but the rising tide of easy AI-powered fraud means now is the time to revisit member onboarding flows to make sure they properly protect you from impersonation and fake identities.”
“The government wants to double the size of the CDFIs and mutuals sector by 2035. Making that happen is going to require drastically improving the member onboarding experience.”
Caroma customers looking to make use of the new capabilities can contact their account manager.
Vouchsafe helps regulated firms replace legacy document checks with safe, easy digital ID acceptance, with inclusive fallbacks for those without.
