Vouchsafe is committed to making its products and services accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of technology or ability.
Our commitment
We build our user interfaces to meet WCAG 2.2 AA standard. We make sure of this by:
- educating our team about common access needs and assistive technologies
- designing responsive interfaces that work across devices and screen sizes
- planning for keyboard-only navigation from the start
- using libraries of components that are accessible by default, like react-aria.
- where we build custom components from scratch, we use semantic HRML and appropriate ARIA roles for screen reader compatibility
- ensuring good colour contrast, and not relying on colour alone to convey meaning
- providing clear, descriptive form labels and error messages
Compatibility
Our services are designed to be compatible with:
- Modern evergreen browsers
- Common assistive technologies including screen readers
- Mobile operating systems’ built-in accessibility features
Ongoing improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing process. We regularly review our interfaces and address issues as they are identified.
Areas of focus are:
- providing alternatives to biometric video selfies, which we know cause issues for users with motor disabilities and facial differences
- providing additional alternatives to photo ID and document scanning, which can cause issues for devices with low quality cameras, or users with motor disabilities
