Workspace provider Runway East cuts KYC cost and admin with Vouchsafe

Runway East is an office space provider for over 8000 members at all-inclusive sites across London, Bath, Bristol, Birmingham and Brighton. In 2025, they started using Vouchsafe for identity checks on new members.
Josh Dane, Business Operations manager at Runway East, explains why they made the switch:
What problem did you use Vouchsafe to solve?
When we started offering hot-desks at a few of our sites, we wanted to take the burden off our Finance team from having to run manual KYC checks for sole traders, which have higher volume but lower financial value.
What was hardest about your previous KYC process?
We’ve previously asked companies to provide a range of documents, which is both an admin and GDPR hassle for us and them. It needed lots of manual chasing, and this just wasn’t viable for hot-deskers who are paying a much lower rate than companies taking offices.
They can also cancel any time rather than being locked into a 12-month contract so we need to run KYC checks more regularly to account for turnover.
What difference has Vouchsafe made since?
Vouchsafe has made it so easy for us to request this information from our new customers. We included it in our workflow when launching our e-commerce portal for purchasing hot-desk memberships.
It’s taken the manual aspects out of the process and made it extremely streamlined. Our Finance team is able to focus on higher-stakes items and we can just let this run in the background without needing to actively work on it.
The webhook automation aspect has been really easy to set up and we’ve got a few workflows that run off the system which are seamless.
What made Vouchsafe the right fit for you?
Ease of use and cost structure. All of the other options we considered required a much higher volume of checks and a monthly fee that would not make it worth it. We loved Vouchsafe’s fee structure; just paying for the checks we need.
