Why we started Vouchsafe

We started Vouchsafe after hearing the dangerous, false claim that security and access are opposed to each other repeated too many times.

In 2026, that's just not true any more. Digital evidence and official data are both easier and safer, and there's no need to depend on security theatre to keep systems safe from fraud.

Chloe led user research on payments for Universal Credit, the largest government service in Europe, and saw the problems of treating these things as opposites first hand.
