Scope
We are committed to making Vouchsafe accessible and inclusive.
This accessibility statement explains what we’re doing to meet accessibility standards, our known limitation, how you can get help using our service, and how you can provide feedback.
This statement applies to the Vouchsafe web-based verification journeys and the Vouchsafe web-based platform, available at app.vouchsafe.id.
Verification journeys are all designed to work across desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices without requiring users to download an app.
The Vouchsafe platform is designed to work in-browser across desktops, laptops and tablets.
Our accessibility standards
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.
These are internationally recognised standards for making digital content more usable for everyone, including people with:
- visual impairments
- neurodivergent conditions
- mobility limitations
- low digital confidence
We have conducted internal audits of our service against WCAG 2.2 AA using a structured template. We will also undergo an external accessibility audit in 2025.
What we’ve done so far
We’ve built Vouchsafe with accessibility in mind, including:
- Responsive design that works on all devices
- Keyboard-only navigation across user verification journeys
- ARIA roles and semantic HTML for screen reader compatibility
- Alt text on all images and labelled form fields
- Clear, easy-to-understand language
- Zoom in up to 200% without the text spilling off the screen
We frequently test with users with varying needs, and use findings to inform changes to the product.
Known limitations
We’re aware of some areas where accessibility can be improved:
- Our video selfie verification requires limited head movement, which may be difficult for some users. We’re working on a more inclusive alternative.
- Our video selfie also has light animation that cannot be removed for security reasons. We’re working on a more inclusive alternative.
- Our document scanner requires low-movement. We offer alternative routes that do not require an ID scan, but are working to improve this feature.
- We do not yet offer a high-contrast mode, although our colour palette was chosen for clarity and contrast.
- Our WCAG 2.2 compliance audits have been internal to date, but we will have an external audit in 2025
We are actively working to resolve these issues and improve accessibility as part of our product roadmap.
